Privacy

This site sets no cookies, tracks nothing across the web, and has no accounts, payments or advertising. The only thing that collects anything about you is the contact form, and only if you choose to use it. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

Who is responsible

The contact form

If you use the form, I receive your name, email address, the subject you picked and your message. It is processed by Netlify, who host this site, and forwarded to my inbox. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: you contacted me and I need the details to reply.

I keep enquiries for as long as the conversation is useful and delete them when it is not, and within two years at the latest. I do not add you to a mailing list, because there isn't one, and I do not pass your details to anyone else.

The form has a hidden field that real people never see or fill in. If it comes back filled in, the message is treated as spam. That is the only automated judgement this site makes, and it is about the message rather than about you.

Analytics

I use Netlify Analytics to see roughly how many people read which pages. It works from the server logs that exist anyway, so it sets no cookies, runs no script in your browser, and cannot follow you to any other website. I see page paths, counts, referring sites and rough country. I cannot see who you are.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, who keep standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. That happens for every visitor to every website and is what the analytics above are counted from. Their privacy policy sets out the detail.

Fonts

Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches them from Google and Google sees your IP address in the process. This is the only third party your browser contacts while reading this site, and it sets no cookies. If that bothers you, tell me and I will self-host them.

What this site does not do

No cookies. No local storage. No advertising, tracking pixels, social media trackers, session recording, fingerprinting, profiling or automated decision-making. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. In practice that means anything you sent me through the form or by email. Write to hi@sallyweatherly.com and I will deal with it within a month. If you are unhappy with the response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this changes I will update the date at the top. There is no version history worth keeping for a page this short.
